Mission

The Gainesville Community Bicycle Project, The Kickstand, provides free or inexpensive bicycle-related services to all persons without discrimination. The bicycle represents the most affordable, healthy, and environmentally sound mode of transportation and recreation. Therefore we seek to encourage individuals to learn to maintain a bicycle and to use it in a responsible manner. We assist individuals in acquiring a reliable bicycle, scheduled access to knowledgeable volunteers, and quality tools. Providing these services allows us to help build community and neighborhood involvement and to create opportunities for communication and cooperation.
